Who took the survey

Unsurprisingly, with our snowball sample, many of the participants resembled Karrie and me: working in the United States, with PhDs in HCI and CSCW related fields, and working in academia. But the survey also covered worldwide locations, a truly great variety of PhD fileds, and different career paths.

In all, there were about 400 complete surveys (and a couple of hundred partials).

Although most of the participants were from the United States, we also had a few responses from across the world:
